Sophisticated Supplier of the Wood Industry

MFL provided a market leader of the wood industry with high-capacity sawing technology by supplying a double horizontal layer saw. The new MFL product designed according to customer specifications was successfully approved by a very satisfied client, the company Mayr-Melnhof in Gaishorn. The plant has started smooth continuous operation right away.

To replace an existing double circular sawing machine that was not capable to fulfil the requirements of the client any more, MFL engineers developed and manufactured a new and very sophisticated plant meeting all sorts of challenging demands: highly dynamic drives facilitate rapid loading and removing of the boards, dents in the wood are avoided thanks to smooth rolls. The especially solid design (plant weight 2.5 tons) with integrated damping elements ensures high plant stability. Due to a saw blade diameter of 550 mm and a cutting speed of up to 100 m/s, excellent board conveying speeds up to 300 m/min and cutting times of approx. 0.3 s are obtained.
